PRAISE CHURCH
Proclaiming God's Praises And Displaying His Virtues in the Borough of Broxbourne

1. We believe in the efficacy of the word of God; and that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
(Luke 1:37, Isaiah 55:10-11, John 10:35; 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Matthew 4:4, 2 Cor 1:20, Gen 1, Eph 6:17)

2. We believe that God is Spirit, all-powerful, all knowing, omnipresent, and eternal.  God is unchanging. He is holy, righteous, just, and merciful.  God is love.
And, we believe the things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

(John 4:24, Jeremiah 32:27, Hebrews 4:13, Jeremiah 10:10, Malachi 3:6, Exodus 15:11, Jeremiah 9:23-24,  Matthew 9:12, 1 John 4:16, Luke 18:27)

3. We believe that God created man in His own image and gave man dominion over the works of His hands.
(Genesis 1:26-27, Psalm 8:3-5, Psalm 115:16, Matthew 18:18)

4. We believe in Jesus. That He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. That He died on the cross to redeem us from the curse of the Law. That He rose bodily from the dead, ascended to Heaven, and is currently seated at the right hand of God the Father. We believe that He is interceding for us and can save all who come to God through Him; We believe His Name is above every other name, and He shall return in person to this Earth as Judge of the living and the dead.
(Luke 1:26-35, Galatians 3:13-14, Hebrews 7:25, Philippians 2: 5-11, Matthew 25:31-46, John 14:12-14)

5. We believe the Holy Spirit (sent to us by Jesus and given to us in answer to prayer) is the Spirit of truth and our Helper.  He helps to understand the scriptures and pray effectively.  He gives us insight into the future, reveals what is in the mind of God to us, enriches our utterance when we are preaching or teaching the word of God and and helps to minister effectively to peoples' needs.
(John 16:5-15, Luke 11:9-13, 1 Corinthians 2: 9-16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, Romans 8:14)

6. We believe sin hinders man's glory, causes poverty and misery, and breaks man's fellowship with God; but there is salvation from penalty and power of sin for those who believe in the sacrificial death and shed blood of Jesus Christ.
(Romans 3:20-28, Romans 6:14, John 3:16, Romans 8:1-11, 1 John 1:5-9, Romans 10:9-13)

7. We believe God delights in the praises of His people and does wonders in the midst of praise.
(1 Peter 2:9, Exodus 15:11, Psalm 22:3, 2 Chro 20:22, Acts 16:25-26)

8.We believe God works powerfully through the preaching and teaching of the gospel to save and to edify those who respond in faith.
(Romans 1:16, 1 John 5:4, Romans 10:12-17, Hebrews 4:2)

9. We believe that God desires for us to prosper and be in good health (spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically).
(1 Thessolonians 5:23, 3 John 2, Exodus 23:25-26, Isaiah 53:4-5)

10. We believe a person can be restored to health or maintain their health through regular meditation in the word of God, by exercising faith in the promises of God and by obeying God's commandments.  Recovery of health can also come through prayer, laying on of hands, anointing with oil and by the direct intervention of the Holy Spirit.
(Proverbs 4:20-22, Psalm 107:20, John 6:63; Romans 8:11, 1 Corinthians 16:12-20, James 5:14-16, Exodus 15:11)

11. We believe that God answers continued, heart-felt prayers that are made according to His will.
(Luke 18:1-8, Luke 11:5-12, James 5:16, 1 John 5:14-15, Hebrews 4:16)

12. We believe bodily exercise is great, but it is not as beneficial as spiritual exercise, which is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
(1 Timothy 4:8, Galatians 6:7-8, John 6:63)
