Now, when you consider the magnificence of the earth and the heavens put into perpetual existence by God, and that God first ensured that Wisdom was in place before undertaking the work of creation (Proverbs 8), you will appreciate that:
* With Wisdom, nothing is too hard to handle.
* Wisdom is indispensable for success.
* Wisdom produces lasting results.
* To work the way God works, you need to first possess wisdom before embarking on any assignment.
The following scripture also beautifully illustrates the necessity of wisdom for success:
Ecclesiastes 10:10 If the ax is dull and the man does not whet the edge, he must put forth more strength; but wisdom helps him to succeed.
In other words, if your axe is dull and you do not sharpen it before beginning to cut with it, you will pay for it! You will spend more time, effort and sweat without much result, because you did not heed wisdom before starting your job.
Similarly, if you are embarking on a journey - without proper directions to your destination; however zealous you may be and however elegant your means of transportation, you will arrive at your destination with much effort if at all, and you are unlikely to enjoy your journey, because you lacked wisdom (the knowledge and understanding) of how to get to your destination!
Suffice to say then that, if you spend time acquiring wisdom before you begin a task, you will get the direction that you need to succeed and avoid fruitless or ineffective labour.
Since God is the author of life and His Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, and the Spirit of knowledge (Isaiah 11:2); as we spend time relating to God, worshipping, listening, and meditating in His word we find ourselves becoming wiser and able to accomplish what we need to do with greater success and fulfilment. That’s what this section of our website is about – sharing wisdom and counsel that we have gained from walking with God with you in the hope that by so doing we will be of service to you to the glory of God, Who is the source of all wisdom.
Be sure to apply yourself to the discoveries that you make here because only then will they be profitable to you.
